Wedding Inspired Blush Photo Shoot near Woodland, California

When Kelsey asked if we would collaborate with her on a styled shoot, we said, "yes please." She was hoping to put together an alternative to the signature colors of autumn; inspiration for brides who want to get married in October or November, but want something softer than orange, yellow, and red. After our first meet-up at Philz (yum!) she sent over a mood board with mauves and peaches and natural wood that melted my soul. I gathered the models, the hair and make-up artist, the dresses and location and Kelsey brought together the florist, linens, flatware, ROSEGOLDware, and all of the other elements to make the tablescape so lovely. We worked hard on this one and are so excited to share.

Our models are Claire (@golden_claire) and Daria (@zhigalovada). We met Claire at Low Brau a few years ago during her first date with a friend of ours. We were photographing an engagement session at the time but she was so beautiful, I couldn't help turn my camera on Claire for a couple quick snaps. Ever since, we've been dreaming of photographing her. She's got a beauty that glows. She's a fish scientist by day and was a little nervous about getting photographed, but she turned out to be a natural. Can't wait to photograph her again.

I searched for models in San Francisco on Instagram and found Daria. How could I not fall in love with those freckles?! She was so lovely and easy to work with. She brought her boyfriend and pup along for the shoot and they were all so helpful (the pup mostly for calming cuddles in the midst of the craziness). Her boyfriend even had sandbags in his truck and pulled them out to help us battle the wind.

Gina was our hair and make-up artist. She's modest, but don't let her fool you. She can create a no-make-up bridal face just as skillfully as she can a zombie for Halloween. She blows my mind. If you haven't yet seen her IG account, prepare to be impressed- @ginascheibermakeup.

Our florals were created by Shannon AKA Thistle and Honey Floral (@thistle.and.honey). She brought Kelsey's vision to life with the perfect mix of rusty roses and fluffy foxtails. She also borrowed satin ribbon from (@tanweddingsandevents) that floated in the breeze. I do love a gorgeous fabric. At the last minute, I told Shannon I had two brides instead of one. Like a rockstar, she created a floral hair piece to tie both of the girls together. She was also there for the whole shoot helping at every turn. This team is incredible!

Miosa Bride (@miosabride) wins first prize for saving my bacon at the last minute. I had dresses lined up with another store in the Bay Area who backed out at the last minute. My head almost exploded and the first place I could think to call was Miosa. The receptionist on the phone restored my hope in humanity and told me (just before closing on Monday) that I could come in Wednesday, the morning of the shoot, and pick out dresses for my girls. When Lindsay and I went in to choose, we were able to peruse all of the gowns and pick any we wanted. The lovely stylists at Miosa gave opinions when needed and wished us luck. Can't thank them enough.

The linens were rented from the always glamorous La Tavola (@latavolalinen), the menus were created by A Fabulous Fete (@afabulousfete), and the farm table donated by Urban Farmstead (@urbanfarmstead) all of which added such elegance to the tablescape and were hand picked by Kelsey.

Now for Kelsey (@kelseyowenevents). Lindsay and I were lucky enough to be able to photograph Kelsey's sister's wedding. She did the styling and planning and we LOVED the feeling she created inside Beatnik. She brought a soft, classy element that perfectly off-set the brick and concrete interior of the building. When she asked us to be a part of her styled shoot, I was so excited. We planned it during the busy season because we didn't want to wait for January. It's been challenging fitting all of the work in, but working a little harder to be able to photograph in 80 degree weather rather than 50 is totally worth it! Plus, now brides who are getting married in the fall of 2018 will have this inspiration. We can't thank Kelsey enough for her hard work. It all turned out so beautiful!!

Lastly, I want to thank our friends Heidi and Daryl for offering up their property for the shoot. Turns out there are a couple of venues in the Capay Valley and Woodland if any brides fall in love with these colors like I did (send me an email and I'll send you in their direction). Heidi and Daryl were there every step of the way and even brought wine to celebrate the occassion. Above and beyond you two!
