Noel-Holiday Vintage Market at Beatnik Studios

11/20/12

The Olive and Rose presents Noel-Holiday Vintage Market at Beatnik Studios.

This event last weekend was glorious! It was so hard to decide what to purchase and in the end, we bought a side table, chalk board, glass bird (which has already been broken by our cat BabyCakes), pine cone swag for our door, caramels, everything bars (which are TO DIE FOR, hot chocolates, and coffees! We really had an incredible time and the feel was so cozy-a perfect place to be on a rainy November day. It made me smile thinking that the holidays are here and it’s time to enjoy the food and presents and scents that come around this time of year.

They even had live music on Friday night! If you didn’t know it, you’d think you were in the room listening to Bing Crosby! Derek Thomas’ voice is smooth and he’s a sweetheart who’s also easy on the eyes. Friday night was really fun because it was a sneak peak occassion. It was bustly and infinitely more enjoyable than working my way through the crowds at the mall!

I don’t think I’ve ever been to a fair with such savvy and passion and holiday spirit! Sandy, you did a fantastic job of collecting the most talented finders, collectors, and creators in the business. Not only was the merchandise extraordinary, but the entreprenuers themselves are kind and gracious.

This Holiday Vintage Market was inspirational and made me want to make a video. So, after enjoying the sneak-peak Friday night, Lindsay and I brought our cameras early the next morning to document the festivities and the vintage pieces. It was really dark in the Beatnik Art Gallery, so we didn’t shoot much footage down there, but the light in the middle space was really lovely and I had a good time trying to figure out how to make magic with my Canon 5D Mark II. This was such a fun way to commemorate this event and now I’m intrigued with moving pictures! Stay tuned for more video projects.

If you didn’t get to make it to the Holiday Vintage Market or if you’d like to continue with your holiday shopping, here’s a list of the vendors involved. We hope to see you all again really soon! I added links to websites and information where I could, mostly so I can remember where to find these folks throughout the year when I feel like doing some shopping.

Sandy-We loved you too! I don’t know how you did it, but you had so much energy from the time I saw you Friday until close Saturday night-maybe it had something to do with the coffee cart? You’re amazing and talented and brought together such an incredible group. Can’t wait to come to your next market!!!
